Fire
is amongst those few things which are devastating both for your
property and well being. Witnessing your property, getting ruined in
the fire is very disturbing and nobody wants to experience such a
scene. Dealing with fire damages is frustrating. You will be
surprised to know that every year, there are approximately 365,500
residential fires that cost up to $6.6 billion property loss. In such
a scenario arming yourself with fire safety knowledge is very
important.

- Since cooking involves working around fire, so be careful. Avoid loose clothing near the gas stove and also keep those flammable materials like towels and wooden spoons away from open flames. Precautionary steps like these are very helpful in preventing those sudden fire outbreaks.
- Make sure you have removed or replaced all the damaged or worn out appliance cords from your home as these can start fire at anytime and can result in a major outbreak.
- While using a portable heater, please be very careful as these are very risky. Use the one that has an automatic shut off mechanism as this is the safest option for homes. As a safety measure, keep any combustible items at least 3 feet away.
- When you are decorating your place with candles, just keep them away from window hangings as these can catch fire easily and can turn out into a major one.
- Always keep a plan ready for your home fire. Practice them, get familiar with all the escape routes in and around your place. All this will increase your chances of escaping unharmed in case of critical fiery situations.
As
it is rightly said that prevention is better than cure, so keeping
these little things in your mind will definitely save you from the
extremities of fire. Just mind them and keep your home safe against
fire damage!
